Why AEO
The numbers behind the shift.
AI assistants are becoming a front door to businesses like yours. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), also called GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), is the work of being the answer they give. The numbers below are why an AEO upgrade is the first project we run. Each one has a source and a date.

What the numbers say
Read together, the numbers say one thing. Search is answering more questions itself. The assistants' audience is compounding. The traffic they send is small today, growing at multiples, and converts like a referral from a friend. SEO still matters, at 35% of our own audit, but it is no longer the whole game. The businesses that become readable to AI engines early tend to keep getting cited, because being cited is itself a signal.
